CARSON, CA -- David Beckham is 35 years old and ruptured his Achilles tendon just seven months ago. But he certainly isn't playing like it. Beckham's Los Angeles Galaxy secured a spot in the MLS Western Conference final for the second consecutive season on Sunday, downing the visiting Seattle Sounders, 2-1 (3-1 on aggregate), at Home Depot Center. Leading the charge for the home side was Beckham, whose pinpoint distribution and dogged defense proved devastating to the Sounders.
Beckham orchestrated both Galaxy goals, serving a perfect corner kick toward the head of Edson Buddle in the 19th minute, then swerving a free kick into the path of defender Omar Gonzalez in the 27th (video here).
