A two-touchdown lead midway through the first quarter against a 4-4 Texas Tech squad seemed like the recipe for a cakewalk on Saturday night for Missouri. One problem: 3 1/2 quarters still remained.
The Mizzou offense failed to score another touchdown the rest of the game, as the Red Raiders man-handled Mizzou from that point on -- shocking the No.14 Tigers with a 24-17 victory.
Two quick rushing strikes put Missouri on the board quickly, as a Marcus Murphy 69-yard touchdown run and a 71-yard run by Kendial Lawrence fueled the Tigers to a quick 14-0 advantage.
The two teams would exchange field goals after that point -- and a Taylor Potts 8-yard pass to Detron Lewis with 15 seconds remaining in the half injected some life into Texas Tech, as the Missouri lead was cut to 17-10.
