ARLINGTON, Texas -- Well before Pat Burrell brilliantly lured Cliff Lee into a false sense of security by striking out, setting up Edgar Renteria's World Series-winning homer, the cries had already begun:Terrible World Series. Baseball is in trouble.
Well, yes and no.
Indeed, on Sunday the World Series lost out in the Nielsen ratings to an NFL game for the first time ever. And years from now, fans outside of San Francisco and Dallas-Fort Worth will be hard-pressed to conjure up a spine-tingling memory of this Fall "Classic."
