Carl Pavano and the Minnesota Twins are close to a deal. It will be finalized within the next few days, a source with knowledge of the discussions told FanHouse's Steve Phillips Tuesday. Pavano, 35, has helped lead the Twins to two consecutive AL Central championships. He was traded to Minnesota from Cleveland during 2009, going 5-4 with a 4.64 ERA after the deal. In 2010, Pavano racked up 17 wins against 11 losses, compiling a 3.75 ERA in 32 starts.
He also had a career-high seven complete games and two shutouts -- which matched his previous career high.
