Eddie George Criticizes Titans' 'Lack of Enthusiasm, Lack of Effort'

Eddie George Jeff Fisher will tell you the Tennessee Titans didn't quit Sunday.

And while Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio said he agrees with the assessment of Fisher - the Titans coach since 1994 - one of the Titans' most-prominent players in the last decade and a half doesn't agree.

Eddie George, who played for Tennessee from 1996-2003, served as the team's "12th man" on Sunday, but told Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean he didn't like what he saw during a 17-6 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"What I saw on Sunday, I've never seen a team play with such a lack of enthusiasm, lack of effort," Wyatt quoted George saying. "Even when they had a chance to win, the energy and body language wasn't there. No one stepped up player-wise to meet that challenge.

"The energy I saw, it didn't seem like there was a sense of energy from anybody. No one seemed to want it. You want to go in there with a purpose. They have to want it. I saw none of that.''
