Syracuse is headed to the inaugural New Era Pinstripe Bowl, FanHouse has learned. The Orange will play a team to be determined from the Big 12 Conference, most likely Kansas State.
In coach Doug Marrone's second season, Syracuse finished 7-5, including 4-3 in Big East play. The Orange's four Big East wins matched their league victories in the previous five seasons when they went 4-31.
Syracuse, which went 4-8 in 2009, was picked to finish seventh in the Big East's media preseason poll. However, the Orange, depending on Saturday's other league results, could finish anywhere from a five-way tie for first to, at worst, a two-way tie for fourth place.
