MANHATTAN BEACH, CA -- Most of this seaside town was quiet on Thursday at 6:30 a.m.The lack of movement outside -- there were just a few early-risers walking their dogs in the sand as the sun rose over the Pacific, and a cyclist or two zipping along the sidewalk -- stood in contrast to the crowd of noisy soccer fans packed inside Hennessey's Tavern.
Despite the early hour, the throng was spirited. They were there to hear, and hopefully celebrate, the announcement of the hosts of the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups.
