Video: Real Salt Lake, Idle Columbus Crew Win Big In Champions League

Tuesday night in the CONCACAF Champions League was borderline historic for MLS. Real Salt Lake continued its dominance at Rio Tinto Stadium and defeated Mexican power Cruz Azul, 3-1, before a crowd exceeding 20,000. While the Columbus Crew won without even taking the field.

Salt Lake (4-1-1) clinched Group A with the victory and became the first of the 14 MLS teams to play in the expanded continental tournament to win its first-round group.

"It's a step in the right direction," RSL coach Jason Kreis said of the historic distinction. He made a similar point about winning the MLS Cup title last year.
