Charlie Davies Caught Driving 125 MPH in France

Filed under:

charlie daviesU.S. national team forward Charlie Davies, who was severely injured in a car accident outside Washington D.C. one year ago and missed the World Cup as a result, reportedly was caught driving almost 125 miles per hour by police in eastern France last Saturday.

Local newspaper Le Progres wrote that Davies was arrested in Jura, an administrative region near Sochaux, while driving an Audi Q7. He reportedly had his license confiscated.

If true, the incident would represent a frightening and stunning lack of judgment. The injuries Davies sustained in last year's crash, which killed another passenger, have been well documented -- three broken bones in his right leg, a torn knee ligament, fractured elbow, eye socket and nose and a lacerated bladder.
