Mark Dantonio Hospitalized Again, Will Not Coach Saturday

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio remained in a local hospital Saturday and will not coach from the press box against Wisconsin as previously planned.

Dantonio, who had a heart attack two weeks ago after an overtime victory over Notre Dame, has a blood clot in his leg, the school announced. He was hospitalized on Thursday and remained there Saturday.

"Blood clots are not uncommon," Dr. Chris D'Haem said in the MSU news release. "The clot can block blood flow and cause swelling and pain."

Earlier this week, Dantonio returned to limited duties and held his regular news conference. He underwent a cardiac catheterization on Sept. 19.

Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis said "The cardiologist told Coach D. that it was in his best interest to sit out another game and stay off his feet."
