DeMeco Ryans Suffers Season-Ending Achilles Injury

DeMeco Ryans, a starting linebacker for the Texans, left Houston's thrilling 35-31 win over Kansas City with an Achilles injury. Houston coach Gary Kubiak announced after the game that Ryans was done for the year -- likely indicating a torn Achilles.

Ryans, one of the key players on the Texans' defense, sustained the injury to his left Achilles late in the second quarter and was carted from the field.

He was third on the Texans with 47 tackles - 30 solos - entering Sunday's game. He also had an interception this season.

According to Nick Scurfield of HoustonTexans.com, the Texans in the second half had three active linebackers healthy: outside linebacker Brian Cushing, outside linebacker Zac Diles and David Nixon, who on Sunday made his third appearance with Houston.
