This time the Rangers bullpen was up to the challenge against the Yankees in a 7-2 win that evened the ALCS at 1-all heading into Sunday's off day.
o. Turning Point: Having been blown out in the late-going in Game 1, the Rangers came right back on the attack in the first inning. Elvis Andrus beat out an infield single, took second on a wild pitch in the dirt, stole third and combined with Josh Hamilton on a delayed double steal that got the Rangers off to a 1-0 first-inning lead.

Stud: Texas left fielder David Murphy, who was on the bench to start Game 1 because a lefty was starting in the person of CC Sabathia, homered off 18-game winner Phil Hughes in the second inning, then hit an RBI double and scored in the third to get the Rangers off to a 5-0 lead after three innings. This time, a five-run lead wouldn't slip away.
